Marblehead, MA, April 2023 – The city of Bridgeport, Connecticut recently took delivery of two 19’ RIBCRAFT 5.85s for their fire department. These specialized RIBs will expand the department’s rescue capabilities by providing a platform that can be quickly trailered and deployed in either of the city’s two harbors.

RIBCRAFT worked with the Department to build a boat that met all of their requirements. Of critical importance for the department was that the boats must be trailerable so that they could be easily and rapidly launched in the city’s two busy harbors. In addition to a heavy duty roller trailer, these versatile vessels feature a low height profile with a forward positioned console, front bench seat, operator leaning post, windscreen and antenna arch. Powered by 115HP Yamaha outboards, the boats reach speeds in excess of 40mph while still providing unparalleled safety and unsurpassed performance.
