Weymouth Harbormaster Takes Delivery of RIBCRAFT 5.85

Marblehead, MA, January 2021 – Located just south of Boston, the Weymouth Police Department recently took delivery of a RIBCRAFT 5.85. The boat will be used by the Harbormaster for patrol, safety enforcement, and rescue operations. Although the department has larger patrol boats, what they lacked was a versatile, quick response craft that was easily operated by one or two officers; they found that with the 19’ 5.85.

RIBCRAFT worked with the Weymouth Police Department to build a boat that suited their diverse operational requirements. Of critical importance for the department was the need for an aluminum hull for consistency with the other vessels in their fleet. RIBCRAFT provided a customized alloy hull that met the customer’s requirements while still providing RIBCRAFT’s proven performance. In addition to the aluminum upgrade, the boat features a center console with a front bench seat, aluminum T-Top, forward and aft tow posts, full navigation package and electronics box, safety light package, and a Suzuki 140 HP Four Stroke engine.
